December 2025By Bob Mulligan (a personal note is at the end of the newsletter) Highlights for December Uranus is Sextile Neptune/Saturn and Trine Pluto all month. The three giants of infinite consciousness work in harmony with each other. Higher changes beyond our control fashion events that shape our destiny. We either get on board the train or get dragged behind it. The Sagittarius/Gemini Full Moon is on the 4th at 6: 15 PM EST on the 13th degree. The most dominant feature of the coming month is the Grand Trine in Water: Mercury is Trine Jupiter in Cancer and also the Neptune Saturn Conjunction in Pisces showing the intensely personal emotional response to events. The Uranus Opposition to Mercury gives intensity. As this is a time of climax and letting go, we are likely to have some conflict over what stays and what goes. With the Sun and Moon Squaring the Nodal Axis, this conflict will intensify because the Nodes show direction and the Squares to them tend to show blockage, division, or indecision. The Mars Square to Saturn emphasizes hard work and persistence as necessary components to moving forward. We have to limit our attention to the most important variables and keep moving forward. On the 10th Neptune turns Direct and will intensify the ongoing Conjunction of Saturn/Neptune. Confusion reigns if we don’t accept that we are traveling in waters without a clear map. Self-acceptance lays a foundation to view and transform the manifestations of our shortcomings. Without clear focus on our inner workings, we are caught in an endless string of negative thoughts and blaming others. On the other hand, we can be on the road to real advancement. Mercury enters Sagittarius on the 11th and will lighten the atmosphere. Mercury’s Sextile to Pluto will help lift the visionary and imaginary side of this transition. Communication that is really important to moving forward will take a meaningful and healthy twist. On the 15th Mars enters Capricorn; for better or worse we will have more energy and determination to complete our given tasks. It is a great time to go back to the beginning and evaluate our selected particular path. New Moon on the 19th at 8:44 PM EST on the 28th degree of Sagittarius. Venus is Conjunct the New Moon which is Square the Neptune/Saturn Conjunction. Change is inevitable. Venus in Sagittarius is looking for adventure and will be on a mission to find it, and will inadvertently shake up all the surroundings for the next month. Also, Quincunx Jupiter and Uranus linked by a Sextile form a double Quincunx to the Venus and New Moon. We will experience much turbulence, sort of like falling down a flight of stairs, but for all of this, we seem to walk away fairly unscathed. The Sun enters Capricorn on the 21st. This is the Winter Solstice officially ringing in the season of winter in the northern hemisphere. Mars crossed into Capricorn (sign of his exaltation) 6 days earlier. Mars and Sun, now Conjunct, operate as a potent force. With Sun, Mars, Moon, and Uranus all in earth signs, our striving needs tangible results. This chart reflects the material direction of events in the world over the next month. This moment paints a picture of the temperament of the next 90 days. Venus in Sagittarius is Square Saturn/Neptune in Pisces. Duty and interest collide. Much geography will change hands and the plan won’t really be clear until next year. Jupiter in Cancer is in his exaltation and Trine Saturn Neptune. It will be a struggle to let go of our attachment to analytic judgment and instead, operate on our intuition and faith. But for all of our personal gyrations, optimism and higher insight emerge victorious. Venus enters Capricorn on the 24th – we struggle to shake the fantasy of how we wish things were and emotionally bond with the reality of our current situation. When we embrace and learn to enjoy what we inevitably must do, life becomes fun again. My Personal Note If you are interested in how the current astrological sky affects you personally, call me at 239-261-2840 or e-mail bobmulliga@aol.com. Visit our website, www.theastrologycompany.com. I’m giving a talk “Tuning into the Cosmos” as a fundraiser for the Alexandria iBase Project. This organization is so important and I really hope you will support them. The donation to come to this talk is marginal. They are asking a minimum of $5.50. So what is the talk about? Every chapter of my book, “The Heart of Astrology” could have easily been a book on its own. We all confront obstacles in our relationship to the environment. We grow by improving our connection to the external world. We explore tools, techniques, and habits that raise consciousness through personalized messages from the whole of life. This talk gives insights and information that wouldn’t fit into the book. But also I’m giving practical tools for increasing your harmony, balance and enjoyment. This is the link to the event posting on the AIP website which has a reserve my seat button. https://alexandriaibase.org/event/tuning-into-the-cosmos/ All astrologers have opinions about the future; some take the time to give an overview of the coming year. One of the very best I have seen for next year was a recent offering by Georgia Stathis: (1) 2026 Outlook with Georgia Stathis – YouTube As a longtime deadhead this was something that really caught my attention. (1) How Deadheads Built the Internet: The Grateful Dead’s Tech Legacy – YouTube Here are a few songs I thought you would enjoy. The first was constructed by AI, tell me what you think. The second is a remembrance of a period of my life when Katie, Bailey, and I would go to hear live reggae music three times a week and dance. The third is from a group I used to see live when I lived in Illinois during the 60’s. Blue Sway Cocoa Tea – I Am Not a King – HQ High Quality – Reggae Music Mason Proffit: Two Hangmen When Zohran Mamdani decided to run for the mayor of New York, I started watching his campaign and looked into his background. There are hundreds of videos about Mamdani and his campaign. I’ve chosen these two videos to share. The first one gives some historical context and explains the roots of Mamdani’s political party – the Democratic Socialist party of American. The second video is meant to convey the spirit and excitement of the election itself.
