February 2026

February Highlights

All happenings will be colored by Neptune having just gone into Aries on January 26th.   Neptune rules civilization and culture.  When he changes signs the collective drumbeat changes. The underlying premise of how societies’ methods change. Until we become accustomed to this change in energy from pastoral to confrontational, we will be prompted to respond to new ways of thinking, feeling, and acting.  Eventually Neptune in Aries will be so intensely, but unconsciously, woven into our inner fabric, we won’t recognize him as an ingredient anymore; after all, Neptune dissolves and hides; it’s his nature, and his job in our spiritual development. But, for the next few months, Neptune’s new clothing in Aries will be quite noticeable.

On the 1st at 5:10 PM EST the Moon is full at 13 degrees of Aquarius/Leo.  Neptune is on the World Point and Semi-square the Sun and Sesquiquadrate the Moon.  This suggests that our projects, plans, and ideas will develop to a rapid conclusion.  Mars has a key role to play in the moment as we are deciding how to free ourselves to move on.  Moon just Opposed Mars and Mars is Contra-parallel Uranus; this suggests that violence will be part of the rapid transition.  With seven planets in fixed signs, it takes a lot of force to break through the inertia. Mercury (god of communication) is Conjunct and Parallel Venus (goddess of love) in Aquarius, sign of the future.  Letting go of the past is usually more difficult; right now it’s easier because it’s inevitable.

On the 3rd, Uranus turns Direct. Thoughts and actions appear in our life in a manner that seems quite spontaneous.  However, with Mercury closing in on a Square to Uranus from the sign Uranus rules (Aquarius), the dissonance and contradiction in our thinking have been brewing for quite some time.

On the 6th, Mercury goes into Pisces and immediately makes a Semi-sextile to NeptuneWe make great progress now if we have a laser-like focus on our most important achievable goal.  This thought occurs to me because my friend and colleague, Donna Stellhorn, pointed out the ability of Aries to focus Neptune.

On the 10th and 11th Mars makes a Semi-square to both Saturn and Neptune.  Mars (the urge to act) is in Aquarius (sign of innovation).  His role now is to highlight the approaching change in world consciousness that Saturn and Neptune will manifest. Collectively and individually, we are preparing to act. Patience and intense focus brings results on something long in the making.

On the 13th Saturn enters Aries.  This starts a two and a half year period where innovations are best started and completed with short bursts of energy. During this time period, fear of restriction can slow the development of trust in key relationships.

On the 17th at 7:02 AM EST we have a New Moon Eclipse at 28 degrees 50 minutes of Aquarius.  The New Moon is Square Uranus; this happens just before the Saturn/Neptune Conjunction. We are starting a new cycle by tearing down the remnants of our old culture.  Some of the things we are throwing away will still be necessary and difficult to replace, but forward we must go.  Mercury Trine Jupiter shows an alignment between our higher consciousness and our way of interacting with others.

Venus Conjunct the North Node of the Moon promises sweetness in our interactions if we remember to put the needs of others first. This Eclipse shows two things clearly, we have a deeply networked connection with everyone we interact with, and we need to stay focused on these connections in order to maintain balance.

On the 18th the Sun goes into Pisces at 10:53 AM EST.  With five planets and the North Node of the Moon in water signs, we will see world events reenacting our personal dramas based on emotions and gut instincts.  With Jupiter Trine Venus, the Moon, and Mercury all striving for an ideal, higher consciousness will be favored. Any effort to speak the truth and stay aligned with our better nature is rewarded and reinforced.  In Washington D.C.,  Uranus and Pluto are on angles at the beginning of this solar month: we will probably see a critical government shakeup over the next 30 days.

On the 20th Saturn Conjuncts Neptune.  They have been close for several years, but now with the meeting they start the new 36 year cycle.  A redistribution of wealth will start now and last for several years.

On the 22nd Mercury Parallels Saturn and Venus Trines Jupiter.  We see opportunity; if we remember our roots and are conscientious, we connect with the tools we need to step into the new reality that is staring at us in the mirror.

On the 26th, Mercury turns Retrograde.  For the next three weeks, we pick up what we left behind and we’ll be better for it.  Even though Mercury is in Pisces, he is Parallel to Neptune in Aries; Neptune instills a pioneering spirit to the impressionable nature of Mercury (god of communication). Travel plans and ordinary conversations easily go awry; we can prevent this by being specific and clear in all communications. Higher intuition supplies critical information.  The more we learn to tune into this higher vibration, the simpler life gets.

 My Personal Note

This Newsletter is going out today, Monday the 26th.  Tomorrow, the four of us: Katie, Mary Weiss, Deborah Smith, and I leave for India. This will be the longest pilgrimage I have taken in 50 years.  The world is going through the growing pains of a new and awakening consciousness.  Although this is meant as a spiritual retreat, I will still do emails twice a week and have some periodic contact with friends, family, clients, and students.  My good friend, Aswin Subramanyan, will join me at Meherabad for four days in February.  We haven’t seen each other in person since our first meeting at an Indian astrology conference in Delhi years ago.

When I return from India, I will head to San Diego and give a talk on “Jupiter and our Higher Intelligence”.  This talk is sponsored by the San Diego NCGR and will be April 18th at 2:00 PM in San Diego. Here are the links to register for members and non-member of NCGR:

I’m going to be there in person because I love being in the same room with participants whenever possible.  If you can’t come in person, you can join on-line.

Although I will go back to India later in the year, my travel date is tentative.  For sure I’ll be at UAC in Chicago from September 2nd to the 9th.   Astrologers from all over the world will be there.  This is going to be a great learning experience, as well as a wonderful time to visit and get to know many of the new people in the field.

I’ll give a one day seminar in Ft. Lauderdale “Your Birth Chart as a Spiritual Road Map”.  I will be there in person on Saturday, October 17th, but people can also attend on Zoom. I’ll send details out later this year.

I have just received a new order of my book “The Heart of Astrology: on the Spiritual Path”.  You can order copies directly from me, or from the publisher – Regulus Publishing Ltd. United Kingdom. www.regulusbooks.com

A little later this year, Regulus will publish an updated, second edition of my book “Between Astrologers and Clients”.  The first edition has enjoyed a stellar run but much has happened in the last 25 years, and it needed some further work.

This book is worth your time. It’s an easy read and fills in some important pieces of history of mysticism, and the role that women played in revitalizing Christianity:

“The Wisdom of the Beguines: the Forgotten Story of a Medieval Women’s Movement” by Laura Swan

This is such an interesting and inspiring story of a musical family that I wanted to share it.  I thought you would find it uplifting:

You may have heard that a group of Buddhist monks are walking for peace with their dog, Aloka. They started in Texas in October and will end in Washington, D.C.

It’s so easy for us to be angry or depressed by conditions in the world.  These monks remind us that real peace begins within each one of us.
