June 2022

June Highlights

Mercury turns Direct in Taurus on the 3rd, then goes back into his own sign, Gemini, on the 13th.  All Retrograde Mercury cycles are important times of reappraisal, but this one has Mercury going deep into the underworld and resurfacing with new information for us.  Venus (goddess of love) is in Taurus, then Gemini so our receptive nature is going through a similar pattern of reflection.  Chances are very good that we can improve our important relationships in June if we concentrate on them.

Mars and Jupiter are in Aries all month; this is very violent.  We had two mass shootings as Mars (god of war) crossed into his own sign; Jupiter was already there.  Jupiter expands.  Potential for more violence is exaggerated all month.  We are deeply engaged with everyone else on earth through the war in Ukraine, the pandemic, climate change, supply chain shortages, food insecurity.  The old line of international trade is gone forever.  We will see a new chain of interaction emerge slowly.

The Full Moon

The Full Moon is at 7:51 AM EDT on the 14th on the 23rd degree of Gemini/Sagittarius.  The Opposition of the Sun and Moon creates a bowl chart as all planets fall between them in the zodiac.  This suggests that we are all motivated by something that we seem to be lacking, the empty side of the bowl.  This is further emphasized by Neptune at the base of a T-Square with the Full Moon. All signs are mutable, which emphasizes the need for mental changes in order to achieve equilibrium for this lofty, visionary combination. We have ample opportunity to alter our thinking to be more in tune with the Divine Plan as Mercury (thinking) is Sextile Neptune (compassion) and Trine Pluto (elimination and illumination).  Saturn in Aquarius becomes the voice of reason, requiring detachment and commitment to stability. Saturn is Trine the Sun and Sextile the Moon. The Venus/Uranus/North Node Conjunction in Taurus reminds us to let go of everything else, but hold onto Mother Nature.  If we let go of the right things now, we will be at peace.

The Sun enters Cancer

The Summer Solstice chart (the Sun enters Cancer) is on the 21st at 5:14 AM EDT.  This is the forecasting map for the world for the next three months.  Mars is in his own sign (Aries) as are Moon and Jupiter which are Conjunct and Square to the Cancer Sun.  This promises an increase in aggression, military action, and overall violence.  However, Saturn Conjunct the Midheaven in Washington D.C. moderates the militaristic side of the pattern, and the USA could momentarily be spared the worst of it.  Mars (war) and Saturn (boundaries) are in their own rulership. Mercury (god of communication and reason) is Sextile the Jupiter/Moon. Some fast talk and real diplomacy can win the day, but it will take genuine effort to change the dynamic. Venus is quite active clustered with the Moon’s North Node and Uranus in Taurus (sign of acquisition); we will see lots of material wealth changing hands, rapidly.  The Square of the Taurus planets to the MC Saturn in Aquarius points to another round of tension between old world consciousness and the energy of the new world being born. Venus is Sextile Neptune and Trine Pluto showing that some kindness and understanding can go a long way to healing the great divide.  This is true internationally, nationally, and in our personal lives.

The New Moon

The New Moon is on June 28th at 10:52 PM EDT on the 7th degree of Cancer.  With the New Moon Square Jupiter it is easy to bite off more than we can chew.  Because Venus is Sextile Jupiter, the best way to harvest the luck of the month is to let it approach us from the environment.  Mars (god of war) is Square Pluto (lord of the underworld); both plants are strong and they emphasize violence.  Mars Sextile Saturn can remind us to be calm and disciplined.  When setting intentions for the month, it is helpful to take note of the cosmic forces at play during this time.  What do we want our own actions to reflect?  What is possible?  What is necessary?

The Weeks

From the 1st to the 5th even though there are some projects lingering from last month, we are entering a new energy of tremendous forward thrust and excitement.  As we grind along, a sudden turn of events opens the door to new options.

From the 6th to the 12th we are waking up to new possibilities.  People in our lives are either transient or stable fixtures to be around for awhile.  There are people with us for a long time that we may have taken for granted.  Acknowledging those that are “true blue” can brighten up others’ lives but also enrich our own. We need gratitude to be happy.

From the 13th to the 19th exercise is great for the body and mind.  Intriguing new options emerge, but are they for us; is a new direction necessary?  Some things presented now are just escape or mental and physical clutter.  What is really important in the long run?

From the 20th to the 26th both heart and mind know what is good for us.  They work together if we listen to our inner voice.  If we have just gone through a period of eliminating the distractions, we experience freedom.  If we are dragging the same old stuff around, it is time to purge.

From the 27th to the 30th help comes if we are open to receiving.  Self-reliance has its place, but we need social interaction to give genuine nourishment to the soul.  It’s good to spend time finding out what is important to others. Hard work pays off and good timing brings luck.

The Days

1st – Wednesday –  A surge of new energy enlivens us.  Channeling our enthusiasm toward friends, family and domestic projects can be more fruitful than laboring over long-range options that seem “smart” and safe for long-term security.  Things immediately present enliven everyone.

2nd – Thursday –  Frustration comes when we try to do too much.  Some things are real but only in our dreams.  Knowing when we have had enough is an important virtue. One step at a time is a good motto.

3rd – Friday –  Mercury turns Direct, Venus Semi-sextile Mars, Sun Sesquiquadrate Pluto –  When we appraise our immediate environment, we should be struck with the truth that things are the way they are suppose to be.   Overlooked difficulties surface, but pain becomes pleasant when we pay attention to what needs to happen.  We are being shaped by circumstances.

4th – Saturday – Sun Contra-parallel Pluto, Saturn turns Retrograde –  It’s a wakeup call.  We are our own limitations. The situation has changed and some limitations that seem to come from the outside have actually disappeared, and we can alter our habits in order to benefit.

5th – Sunday –  To be dismayed by current world crises can be prelude to action.  To be effective we need to be honest with ourselves.  What do we have the power to do?  The question of responsibility is not easy.  What we are given to do is actually simpler than it looks at first glance.

6th – Monday –  Venus Semi-square Neptune –  We have all the tools at our disposal to take a quantum leap in creativity.   The choices we make now will influence our direction for a while.  Discrimination can allow us to separate the truth from wishful thinking.

7th – Tuesday – Mars Semi-square Saturn –  Tempering our enthusiasm without dampening our spirit is a balancing act. To move forward we need to focus exclusively on the right details.  Correct allocation of time will take some practice as external circumstances require a new approach to basic tasks.

8th – Wednesday –  Balancing the possible with our intentions requires aligning our inspiration with the rational facts.  Duty is more than just a nice idea; it is a list of prescribed tasks. We are called upon to do more.

9th – Thursday –  Venus Contra-parallel Saturn –  The gentler side of our nature is providing instructions and we must listen.  We get to a better world by listening then implementing a receptive impulse to understand, forgive, and harmonize.

10th – Friday –  Mercury Trine Pluto  –  Determination and trusting our intuition brings us to a long sought after conclusion. There is hard work then rest.  Taking the time to complete just a portion of what must be done is an important step in achieving self- mastery.

11th – Saturday –  Venus Conjunct Uranus –  In the process of just fulfilling our given routines, we stumble on new possibilities.  Development of consciousness is slow but we have an opportunity to find a new avenue.  Methods may change but the goal remains the same.  Time spent outdoors is refreshing and invigorating.

12th – Sunday –  Frivolous enterprises can be relaxing, but we see more clearly when we simplify.  It is important to not lose heart, even when the news is not to our liking.  When we feel stuck, it is a sign that we have become distracted.  Patience is the key to seeing real growth after the seeds have been planted.

13th – Monday –  Mercury enters Gemini –  It’s a lucky day and we feel refreshed.  Entering a new week without a good break over the weekend can leave us depleted, but the world does look different now.  We do need to be vigilant; avoid shortcuts or we will be scrambling to correct mistakes later on.

14th – Tuesday –  Mercury Parallel Uranus, the Full Moon is at 7:51 AM EDT on the 23rd degree of Gemini/Sagittarius –  Nervous energy may leave us feeling anguish for no apparent reason.  An inner prompting can clue us into some unfinished business.  It is better to make light of the upset and confusion and move on, unless we can clearly define what is causing our turbulent mood.

15th – Wednesday –  Venus Semi-square Jupiter –  It may seem that we are starting over, but we are really halfway through an important process. Luck is with us if we know where to put our attention. Harmonizing our need for moving forward with our instinct to be prudent is resolved if we have faith and take a leap.

16th – Thursday –  Sun Trine Saturn, Venus Parallel Uranus –Consistency, discipline, and a calm state of mind help relieve tension.  It’s time to allow others to assist and at the same time to keep up with our promises and responsibilities. Others are in our lives for a purpose, but we need to be sure we are not complicating their lives.

17th – Friday – Mars Semi-sextile Uranus –  We are in a hurry but this is not the Boston Marathon, only the 40-yard dash.  Overstepping the parameters of the moment will leave us exhausted or worse.  We are happiest when satisfied with small gains.

18th – Saturday –  Venus Square Saturn –  Our well-intentioned gestures can go unnoticed or even rejected.  Some people can’t enter our world, and perhaps we aren’t willing to enter theirs.  We don’t have to all get along all the time to make a better world.

19th – Sunday –  Venus Sextile Neptune, Sun Quincunx Pluto –  Joy in the creative process is there, but this might be a quiet moment within, rather than some grand external time of artistic inspiration.  Freedom to act and move as we please can compel us to be spontaneous. We sprout confusion when we make, then break, commitments. Unless we are with people who know our ways and moods, we are happiest to just go it alone.

20th – Monday –  Mercury Sextile Jupiter –  Pieces on the chessboard move around easier.  It’s not so much that the rules have changed; instead we recognize rules that have been overlooked.  We suffer when we feel that we know the answers, but when we question in earnest we see the whole game differently. It’s a good time to plan, but it is not conducive to act when material results are wanted.  We learn and that brings power.

21st – Tuesday – Venus Trine Pluto, Sun enters Cancer –  Sitting still is not an option.  We will act but in what direction?  It is easy to be angry, spontaneous, or reactive; to be really fruitful we need to operate from common ground with the key people in our lives; but more importantly, we need to accommodate the conflicting tendencies within our own personality.  Channeling our energy into projects that have immediate material benefits is the winning ticket.  Then we must be patient.

22nd – Wednesday –  Venus enters Gemini – Variety makes the day sparkle.  Our time is best spent on activities that reap quick results. Then we should move on.  Just having a good time is fine if we can take it as it comes.  Calibrate activities to avoid damage to long term goals. Life is about to be upended again.

23rd – Thursday –  Sun Semi-square Uranus –  Security is illusive.  Things that used to matter diminish.  It is not so much that our values change (although that would be nice), it’s that our methods for achieving our goals seem unreliable.  The big mistake now is to abandon one bad set of practices for another.  It’s all a learning process regardless.  We are involved in an elevation of consciousness whether we are aware of it or not.

24th – Friday –  Wishing for a rest will not make it happen.  Letting go of mindless activities will sharpen our awareness and supply an abundance of energy.  Separating the real from the sock-puppet helps; we get on with it.  We complete tasks then rest.

25th – Saturday – Mercury Sesquiquadrate Pluto –  A flash of insight needs immediate action.  Criticizing others is a waste of valuable time.  We don’t need a map of the whole journey in order to take the next step.  The larger picture of what we are doing will manifest in time.  We are learning to trust our intuition.

26th – Sunday – We can stimulate our mind by moving around; getting our physical body in motion is therapeutic.  Time spent outdoors benefits every area of life.  Connecting with playmates prompts remembrance of the role others ultimately have for us. Letting go of guilt and self-admonishment frees us from our history, and helps us envision a wider future.

27th – Monday – Mars Sextile Saturn –  We learn by doing.  A little extra effort on long-standing problems is rewarding personally and professionally.  Meditation calms the mind, but satisfaction comes by being honest in our activities.  Help others by listening. Clear away confusion by doing what is immediately in front of us.

28th – Tuesday –  Neptune turns Retrograde, Mercury Semi-sextile Uranus, Mars Semi-sextile Neptune, Sun Square Jupiter, the New Moon on the 7th degree of Cancer is at 10:52 PM EDT, Venus Sextile Jupiter –  Empathy, compassion, service to others all open our hearts.  It is time to get quiet inside.  A surge of energy will go somewhere, or we suppress it and just get tired. Walking, running, yoga, spending time with our family are all exercise for the soul now.

29th – Wednesday –  Sun Semi-sextile Venus –  When we take a portion of what we have and share it with the less fortunate, we plant seeds for our own future. This act improves the collective atmosphere on the planet.  The good news is that we don’t have to do everything at once.  Prioritize and process one thing at a time.  Personal and professional lives seem in conflict but they aren’t.  Public and private each have a role.

30th – Thursday –  It may seem we are battered by forces larger than our own concerns.  We can help ourselves and many others if we stay engaged.  Many around us will seem to grow indifferent or numb to the world situation; that is fine for them but not for us.  There is much to be done and we can enjoy doing the necessary.

My Personal Note

My air conditioning was out from the 19th until the27th.  Finally the people in charge got someone to come in a replace my old system.  My water was turned off for part of two days.  We have become so dependent on modern technology.

Alex Jones was convicted for saying the Sandy Hook Elementary school massacre was staged.  And still people promote untruths.  The fight for the facts continues.  It is a strange world we live in.

The war in Ukraine wears on.  The pandemic is still with us. Climate change continues to accelerate. All of this can produce disaster fatigue. Katie shared with me this video which shows one person’s acts to promote sustainability by her example,  https://youtu.be/v0XLEdlfpFI.

Here is a link to the May 22nd Astrology Q & A, “Astrology, Trudeau, Ukraine & Reserve Currency.” It was a lively discussion to answer the submitted questions.  https://youtu.be/E03J9dGfnFo

The next Astrology Q & A will be on Sunday, June 19th at 1PM EDT. Email me any questions you have, I will answer them in the order they come in.  Email me for the link.

“True love is no game of the faint-hearted and the weak; it is born of strength and understanding. The ideal of non-violence, in the face of aggression, is impracticable for the masses: and it will have a tendency to be readily used as a subterfuge for servile acceptance of ignoble conditions and contemptible desertion of a clear duty. In its enthusiasm for the highest ideal, wise leadership can in no way afford to lose all sense of the relative and the practical. Human evolution proceeds by gradual stages from selfish violence, and then from non-violence of the brave to the pure and incorruptible non-violence of Truth as Infinite Love.”
